Large Amethyst pendant drop necklace

A beautiful, large teardrop of Amethyst with Sterling Silver in this pendant necklace.

The Amethyst has a variety of purple tones and bands giving more interest to the stone. The elongated Amethyst teardrop has been faceted to catch the light. I have added a Sterling Silver cap to the bottom of the Amethyst for even more interest.

The Amethyst is approx 35mm long and the total length of the Amethyst pendant, including Sterling Silver bail, connector and end cap is approx 45mm. Each piece of Amethyst is a unique, individual creation by Mother Nature and as such, each pendant will have slightly different markings. I have used a 46cm (18 inch) Sterling Silver chain to show of this piece of Amethyst.

Amethyst is a well known gemstone, it is a birthstone for February and a 6th Anniversary stone. It is said that it will prevent drunkeness, possibly as it was used to line drinking vessels so that the person could drink water but it looked like they were drinking wine.

Amethyst, in crystal healing, is believed to relieve stress and strain, dispels anger and fear. It is used to aid with grief and sadness. It is also said to be a protective stone and is favoured by healers.

This Amethyst pendant necklace will be posted in a gift box so it would be an ideal February birthday gift for a 6th anniversary gift, or just because you or your special someone loves purple. All metal in this piece is .925 Sterling Silver.  All metal is nickel and lead free.
