This white body gemstone has moments of clarity and some flashes of blue. Moonstone is a member of the Feldspar family, its colour flash is called Aduleresence.

The ancient Romans thought that moonstone was moonlight trapped in the rocks, hence the name Moonstone.

In crystal healing,

Moonstone is connected to the Third Eye and Solar Plexus chakras. It is linked to feminine energies – believed to balance hormone cycles, ie easing PMS, helping with fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, and breast-feeding.  For men, Moonstone is said to help balance the emotions. Moonstone is also said to aid the digestive system, helping to absorb nutrients, eliminate toxins and fluid retention. It helps improve the condition of the skin, hair, eyes, and fleshy organs such as the liver and pancreas.

Moonstone is  used as a stone of inner growth.  It soothes emotional stress, bringing calm and peace. It is also thought to enhances intuition and inspiration, bringing success and good fortune.
