Sunstone Rose Gold necklace

The Ancient Egyptians believed that the Sun God Ra travelled underground each night and that some of his energy and light was left behind in the rocks which became Sunstone.

Sunstone is a Feldspar mineral with copper platelets which give it the characteristic sparkle.

This faceted cube of natural Sunstone has a rich orangey caramel colour with lots of copper inclusions which give a stunning sparkle as it moves in the light. This gemstone is approx 8mm in size.

I have created a drop style pendant necklace with this cube of Sunstone by adding a faceted bead and a bar of 9kt Rose Gold over 925 Sterling Silver. This gives a lovely movement and shows off the beautiful sparkle of this gemstone in this unique piece of jewellery. I have added it to an 44cm (18 inch) chain in a matching 9kt Rose Gold over Sterling Silver. The drop is approx 3cm (1.2 inches) long.
