Sunstone Sterling Silver Earrings

Bring the Sun into your life with this pair of beautiful handmade Sunstone and Sterling Silver earrings.

Sunstone

The Ancient Egyptians believed that the Sun God Ra travelled underground each night and that some of his energy and light was left behind in the rocks which became Sunstone.

Sunstone is a Feldspar mineral with copper platelets which give it the characteristic sparkle.

These faceted cubes of natural Sunstone has a rich orangey caramel colour with lots of copper inclusions which give a stunning sparkle as it moves in the light. These gemstones are handcut so each one is individual, they are approx 6mm in size.

I have created a pair of drop style earrings with these cubes of Sunstone by adding a disc of brushed Sterling Silver. The round disc contracts with the cube shape of the gemstones. This gives a lovely movement and shows off the beautiful sparkle of this gemstone in this unique piece of jewellery. The drop is approx 2.5cm (1 inch) long. The earwires are also Sterling Silver.
