Sunstone Sterling Silver necklace

Sunstone

The Ancient Egyptians believed that the Sun God Ra travelled underground each night and that some of his energy and light was left behind in the rocks which became Sunstone.

Sunstone is a Feldspar mineral with copper platelets which give it the characteristic sparkle.

This faceted cube of natural Sunstone has a rich orangey caramel colour with lots of copper inclusions which give a stunning sparkle as it moves in the light. This gemstone is approx 8mm in size.

Sunstone necklace:

I have created an individual necklace with this cube of Sunstone dropping from a .925 Sterling Silver brushed disc. This gives a lovely movement and shows off the beautiful sparkle of this gemstone in this unique piece of jewellery. I have added it to an 44cm (18 inch) Sterling Silver chain. The drop is approx 3.5cm (1.6 inches) long. Necklace will be sent in a gift box, so this would make an ideal gift for yourself or someone special.
