A lovely Amethyst pendant, unique unusual trapaiche Amethyst, lovingly wrapped in sterling silver wire.

DETAIL:

The amethyst pendant measures just over 3.8 cm including the bail. The wire is 925 sterling silver. The Sterling silver chain is approx 44cm (18 inches) long. This unique stone has lovely soft purple tones, from pale lavender to darker purple with some patches of clear colour. It has natural markings and patterns with needle-like inclusions in the stone – this is not your usual amethyst.  Each pendant will be different due to the organic nature of the gemstone. To make a frame for the stone, I have used a wire netting technique based on the ancient art of couching – when pearls and gems were handstitched into gowns. The pendant bail is large enough to accommodate a chain, cord or ribbon – whatever you choose.

STONE:

Amethyst has been used for centuries in jewellery and in crystal healing. It is a birthstone for February It is a calming and soothing stone, said to ease stress and remove negative thoughts. Ametyst is also a gem of the Violet Flame.

This is not your usual Amethyst, it is Trapaiche Amethyst, a rare and unusual form of this gemstone.
