Grey Jasper Mala Necklace

A Mala Necklace is a strand of beads traditionally used as prayer beads and in meditation.

Details:

This unique handmade Mala Necklace is made with 108 Grey Jasper beads, 4 dark blue Variscite marker beads, a Snowflake Obsidian Guru bead and a black and blue tassel.

The grey Jasper beads are 8mm round beads, the Variscite are dyed dark blue and are 10mm round. The Snowflake Obsidian is 15mm round. This Mala necklace is quite long – approx 132 cm (52 inches) including the tassel.

I have knotted between each bead, and said a blessing, offered good wishes for the wearer, with each knot tied. I have cleansed the Mala Necklace in the last full moon of 2020 and energised it in the first sunshine of  2021.

It can be used as an aid to counting prayer, mantras or meditation. It can, if you wish be worn as a long necklace or doubled for a layered look – it will easily fit over the head.

Stones:

Grey Jasper – these range in tones and patterns, from a soft grey to a dark moody grey with swirls and patterns – each one is unique. Jasper is known as the ‘Supreme Nurturer’ and is a grounding stone. It is a calming and soothing stone. Grey Picture Jasper is said to ease sadness and absorb stress and negativity.

Variscite: I have used a dyed blue variscite in this Mala necklace – it should also look good as a piece of jewellery. Variscite is a stone said to instill Joy in the wearer, bringing peace, calm and easing stress.

Snowflake Obsidian: Obsidian is a form of Volcanic Glass – the ‘snowflakes’ are pieces of volcanic ash trapped in the lava – causing the unique patterning in the stone. This is another calming, soothing stone, providing balance for body, mind and spirit – it teaches you to value mistakes as important learning lessons.

Designed and handmade by Hazelrocks Jewellery in Roscommon, Ireland. I use ethically mined/sourced genuine gemstones wherever possible. I also reuse, recycle and re-purpose packaging materials whenever I can.
