Sunstone Rose Gold Earrings

Sunstone

The Ancient Egyptians believed that the Sun God Ra travelled underground each night and that some of his energy and light was left behind in the rocks which became Sunstone.

Sunstone is a Feldspar mineral with copper platelets which give it the characteristic sparkle.

These faceted cube of natural Sunstone has a rich orangey caramel colour with lots of copper inclusions which give a stunning sparkle as it moves in the light. These gemstones are handcut so each one is individual, they are approx 6mm in size.

I have created a pair of drop style earrings with these cubes of Sunstone by adding a bar of 9kt Rose Gold over 925 Sterling Silver. This gives a lovely movement and shows off the beautiful sparkle of this gemstone in this unique piece of jewellery.
