Large statement pendant, natural Australian yellow Opal framed in curls and swirls of copper wire.

Details

This large Australian Yellow Opal has depths and tones of yellows and creams. This gemstone is a faceted flat pear shape and is approx 3.5 cm long. I have created a frame and curled and swirled the copper wire around the gemstone and added a small clear quartz at the top and bottom of the pendant. The total pendant length is approx 7.5 cm. The copper wire is then oxidised to give a vintage look and to add depth and interest to the piece. I had added a black leather cord with sliding knots to the necklace, you choose whether you want to wear this piece of jewellery long or short or somewhere in between.

This wire wrapped gemstone could be used as a window hanging to allow the light to play on it. you could also use it as a frontpiece on your special book or journal.
